The learning routes are designed by different partners in To-Gather. Feel free to design your own route inclusive knowledge, working forms, ways of presentation and educational material.
Each route consists of seven steps. This is a short overview:
In step 1 the learner opens his senses through music, images, words, dance and/or drama. Furthermore he gathers knowledge in step 2 from different entry points and transfers it into reality in a problem-solving way (step 3). In step 4 he communicates with other learners in or outside the class and starts to make a product of it. Step 5 is the preparation and creation and step 6 the presentation. Finally the learners reflect on the process and the product and integrate it in reality (step 7).
It is hard for young people to know who they are, and to find out who the others are. In the route they learn through music, art, and role place. Finally, they have to visualize their own identity related to others by creating objects, powerpoint presentations etc.
In route 2 they experience life in the family, focusing on the roles of each member of the family. Furthermore they are focusing on how to make friends. it is visualized in the music collage "The Table Talk" and the mask film "It's all in the Family"
It is about the life environment and how to create it. The presentation is the design of the environment by objects, paintings, and music for instance the playground of a school, the environment of the house, a place in a city.
The learners experience themselves and what it means to migrate. What is the relation between the land that lives inside and the land of the arrival? It is about looking through the eyes of the other (for instance, why should you leave Syria and go to the Netherlands)
What are the different life stances or philosophies of living, such as Islam, Christianity, Judaism, Humanism, Buddhism, and Hinduism? For instance they go shopping and create their mix of life stances.
